The Full Story

About

Welcome to The Wanderlust Collective- a global community of readers, writers, and creative souls united by a love for stories, culture and connection. The collective began as a book club founded in Merida, Mexico. What started as small circle of readers in cafe's and cozy living rooms, quickly grew into a vibrant community of over 60 members, spanning expats and visiting book lovers. The club became a sanctuary for women to explore fiction, friendships, and freedom through storytelling. As the community expanded, Elnora Peters envisioned something larger- a creative ecosystem that would house not just book club gatherings, but also literary pop-up cafe experiences and future cultural retreats. Through the collective, Wanderlust now produces public events, digital products, and fundraising efforts to support literacy initiatives.

The Wanderlust Book Club and Collective stands for more than reading- we present belonging, exploration, and empowerment. It's a movement rooted in storytelling, sisterhood, and soulful travel- a reminder that no matter we we go, our stories connect us.

Short Bio

Our Philosophy

The Wanderlust Collective exists to build a global community where literature, culture, and creativity connect. Through themed book club gatherings, pop-up cafes, and literary events, we create spaces for African American readers, writers, and dreamers to explore new chapters- in books and in life.

Our Impact

To redefine what a book club can be- transforming stories into experiences and readers into communities. We envision The Wanderlust Collective as a global hub for literature, culture, and connection one chapter at a time.
